It’s been just over a month since Zoe decided to join us, and I can’t even begin to describe how fast life happens. So fast, it’s almost surreal.
While taking these pictures, it hadn’t registered yet. It didn’t register when I watched them clean her up, or when they were weighing and measuring her. Time just seemed to stand still.
Zoe was breech, so Ashley didn’t get to hold her immediately – but when it was time to go see her for the first time, the nurse offered to take a picture of me holding her. I handed her the camera, and she asked “Are you sure you trust me with this?” Little did she know – I felt the same way. I have to admit: I don’t think I have been so intimidated before. Who knew something so small could be so big?
I’m so incredibly proud of Ashley – the c-section wasn’t planned, nor the 5 day hospital stay – but she has been amazing nonetheless.
Ever wonder what a c-section looks like first hand?
First time seeing Zoe.
She came out folded in half.. and asleep. Super comfortable if you ask me.
Annndd.. still asleep.
Feet in the air please:
First time she looks at me.. almost as if to say “Who are you again? And where am I?”
Proof she’ll have a sense of humor.
Can you do this with your toes?
More footprints..
The outside of the “crib” made a good footrest.
Rock Chalk.
She’s already famous.
She still has random moments like this – and I still find it entertaining.
