For those who live in and around Kansas City, it was hard to miss the rounds of lightning and thunder that blanketed the city. If by chance you did miss it – well, you missed a stellar lighting performance.
I’ve always been intrigued by lightning, and can’t really explain why. But if a storm starts rolling in and puts on any sort of electrical display, I’m running outside with my camera and tripod. And Ashley never fails to tell me in my hurry to set up shop that I shouldn’t be going to look for lightning bolts – that they tend to find things on their own. And then rattles off a news headline about someone getting struck by lightning. It really is a good warning system – but usually isn’t enough to deter me from thinking that I’m conquering nature.
So last night wasn’t any different. Lightning storm rolls in, thunder follows, and the winds pick up – and I’m in the middle of the street pointing my camera at the sky hoping to freeze some crazy act of nature:
Nonetheless, I get pretty determined – I mean afterall, I do haul my camera out and take a few raindrops – so I want something to show for it :)
Until next time, that bolt will have to suffice.
